The opportunity has arisen for a Director of Business Development to manage and develop key global customer relationships and to identify new growth opportunities across Carclo’s core Global vertical markets.

 

Role Overview

As Director of Business Development, you will lead the commercial performance of key customer accounts, working closely with existing partners to drive growth by identifying new opportunities that align their requirements with Carclo’s technical capabilities. You will also identify and qualify new opportunities within priority markets, including Medical and Diagnostic Devices, Optics, engineered polymer components, Electronics, and Aerospace.

This is a remote role, requiring significant travel with strong virtual engagement with customers and close collaboration with internal teams. You will lead commercial discussions, proposals, and negotiations, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop long-term relationships with key global customers
  • Support program expansion and identify new opportunities within existing and new accounts
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities within target vertical markets
  • Lead commercial discussions, proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Work closely with our Engineering, Quality, Tooling, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams across global sites to deliver solutions
  • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline management, and commercial planning

 

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline
  • A proven track record in business development and key account management gained within Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Optics, Electronics, or Aerospace
  • Strong understanding of technical manufacturing and/or precision engineering environments
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships globally, working across multiple time zones
  • Clear, confident communication and strong commercial judgement

 

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA or MEng) or equivalent
  • Liquid silicone rubber and micromolding experience
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with tooling, molding, or engineered component manufacturing
